Russia and india does share friendship from soviet era but still there are not a lot of indian can speak Russian language. Russian language at first glance does look pretty much threatening but trust me its one of the most beautiful language that has ever spoken on planet earth. The idea behind Russian language is to bound people with love and politeness. 

So enough of the talk lets get in to the information about Russian language.

some facts about the Russian language which will help you to understand the perspective of learning it.

 There are not many words in Russian language.

 Since the 19th century, when there were only 50,000-100,000 words were recorded in dictionaries. the number is very small compared to the English language, which is over 1,000,000 words. Russians actually use very few words, and you will find that due to this one Russian word could be use in many meanings. 

Russian is the most spoken language in Eur-asia.

Among all European native languages Russian is  most spoken in all Slavic languages by a long shot. Overall, it is the 7th most spoken language in the world.

It's obligatory for all astronauts in the international space station to learn Russian reason perhaps the dominance of Russia in space.

There are No "is/are/am" In Russian. So people just say my name Anton without  "is".

To change a sentence into a question, one  have to change  intonation, for example  "Ты дома." (you are at home) and  for question  "Ты дома?" (Are you at home?) just need to stress. 

and in Hindi language we do not have any intonation issues so this always a very big problem for Indians while they start learning Russian language.
